Moving made easy

We’ve made moving your email so much easier than you think. In a few clicks you can pull in all your email from Outlook/Office 365 into your new Fastmail account. We can keep fetching any new mail that arrives in your old inbox afterwards, so you’ll never miss a message while you update everyone with your new address. You can even send replies from your outlook.com address if you need to.

  1. Sign up for your new Fastmail account.
  2. Go to Settings → Migration, and choose Outlook.com / Office 365.
  3. Sign in to your old Microsoft account and follow the instructions to import all your mail.

That’s it! Sit back, relax, grab your beverage of choice. We’ll pull in all your messages using our super-fast server-to-server connection direct to the Microsoft data centers. You can keep using your new email while we do this, or go do something else while we get on with it. Depending on the size of your mail history, it can take a few hours to complete.   • Is Fastmail an email client like Outlook?

    Microsoft names about 3 different things “Outlook”, so this can be confusing! Fastmail is an email service, like outlook.com, Microsoft 365, or Gmail. While we have our own apps, they are just for connecting to email hosted at Fastmail.

  • Can I still use the Outlook desktop or mobile apps if I host my email with Fastmail?

    Yes. If you want to keep using the apps you already know, with Fastmail you can. We recommend you give the Fastmail apps a try though, to get access to the full speed, power and simplicity of Fastmail!

  • I host my email using my own domain, can I migrate to Fastmail?

    Yes. Most Fastmail plans support using your own domain — or several — at no extra cost. We’ve got great support for adding extra email addresses (aliases), and our Duo, Family, and Business plans make it affordable to get everyone who needs it their own inbox at your domain.
